Can't get back at someone on my own...
Digimovie Poster Idea
The painting on this page is Caravaggio's "Judith Beheading Holofernes" (c. 1598; Oil on canvas, 145 x 195 cm; Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica, Rome). The painting is a depiction of a passage from the Book of Judith in the Apocrypha. Caravaggio painted the Jewish widow Judith assassinating the Assyrian military leader Holofernes, to Judith's left, her elderly servant awaits to sack the victim's head. Though the painting's subject is different from the digimovie's narrative, it could serve as a springboard for the digimovie's poster: with Angela on Judith's place; Jake, Angela's ex-lover, on Holofernes'; and Ma-an, Angela's sidekick, on the elderly servant's. Its tableau of violence very well captures the digimovie's mirage... if only this singular frame could sing and dance.
